Description: SOS offers counseling, case management and financial assistance to singers experiencing life threatening illness and other unforeseen misfortunes. Their circumstances of hardship have caused them undue emotional and financial distress.

Target demographics: Professional singers of all genres who have earned their primary income from singing for five years or more. Circumstances must be of an emergency nature.

Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Help us carry out general, but necessary office duties and allow staff more time to fundraise steadily and ensure the success of the organization and our mission based work.

Geographic areas served: Nationwide.

Mission:
SOS benefits the health and welfare of professional singers by providing a safety net of free and confidential services to those who find themselves in extreme crisis.
Results:
SOS has helped well over 3,000 singers to the tune of $3 million.

When I was close to losing my home, Society of Singers stepped in and gave me an emergency grant that saved me from homelessness. SOS is a truly great organization that has helped 1000's of singers and musicians over the years. I am aware of over 50 personal friends in need that have been assisted over a rough patch by SOS who remain eternally grateful for help, many of which have gone on for an extended career... more »
