Description: 126 acre educational wildlife ranch. Raise endangered/rare species for zoos.
Target demographics: DFW families, schools and organized groups
Direct beneficiaries per year: 140ish animals cared for. 20,000 guests thru our gates.
Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Trim trails, paint fences, facilities maintenance
Geographic areas served: Dallas/Fort Worth, TX
Mission:
Our mission is to provide the North Texas community with a place to learn about and experience wildlife in a unique and personal setting.
Results:
Spent a year fundraising for bear habitiat, which is currently under construction.

A little overhyped given their fb following & tv show on dirty jobs. Animal holding places stunk to high heaven & they were letting kids pet monkeys with huge canine teeth. Very scary & stupid to say the least or they just have awsome isurance. I wasn't prepared for that at all & thought it woudl ...

I love working with these people every chance i get. they make each day with them more enjoyable than the next and is so rewarding to get to help all the animals and know that there doing such good things for the rare and endangered species! I have never seen more dedicated people or been more proud...

We take our grandchildren on field trips to Sharkarosa and it is an awesome experience. The staff and volunteers are exceptional: informative, patient and are excellent with the animals and the visitors. We always do the private tour for 10+ and we are treated like royalty. I highly recommend ...
