Mission:
Second Wind, founded in April of 1995, provides lung transplant patients and their families with information, support, education and guidance through: a Patient Assistance Program; a Toll-Free Help Line (1-888-855-9463); a Monthly E-newsletter; a Mentoring Program; Assistance with Relocation to St. Louis for Transplant; Social and Support Networking; Second Sunday Socials and Support Group Meetings; Donor Awareness and Educational Activities. With out Second Wind and the wonderful programs they provide, many transplant patients would have continued to feel isolated and uncertain about what to do.

But what some do not know is the way they go out of their way to ensure that each person has a safe and comfortable stay when they have dr appts which include overnight stays, sedations that come along with ct's and PET scans, not to mention starting new meds that ...
