Target demographics: People who are passionate about dogs and cats, living in San Antonio and the surrounding area
Direct beneficiaries per year: By adopting out approximately a little less than 5,000 animals a year, our shelter gives stray animals an opportunity to be adopted into forever, loving homes
Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Walk dogs; clean cages; spend time in our kitty cottage assisting with cats and kittens, volunteer in the administration department with paperwork.

I've had the pleasure of volunteering at the San Antonio Humane Society since March of 2011. It's been one of the best experiences of my life. I have actually adopted 2 pets from San Antonio Humane Society over the past 6 months. I think that speaks for itself. I adopted a 2 month old kitten back in July 2011 and he immediately adapted to life in a home with a dog and children. I then adopted a 2 month old puppy over Christmas 2011 who ...
