Mission:
SAFE engages our community in working together to prevent substance abuse.
Results:
Some of SAFE's successes include a decrease in inhalant abuse among eighth-graders by 63% since 2005, from twice the national average to well below it. SAFE has partnered with air conditioning companies, who have installed over 2,500 free locking caps on A/C units to prevent huffing of refrigerant. SAFE's compliance checks initiative has led to a 75% reduction in alcohol sales to minors.
