Description: Pegasus' seminars are taught in a "train the trainer" type of format so the military member can use the information immediately in their commands. The courses are taught at no charge to the participant. The seminars are taught in a lecture-style format so the training is mandatory - no record will go in the military member's jacket - so military careers will keep moving forward.

The corporate interviewing skills class is taught by a former Fortune 500 corporate interviewer.

Target demographics: Active duty military officers
military veterans and their families.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 500 military veterans. This number will grow this year as we are adding free teleconferences for our veterans to attend virtual teleconferences from around the country.

Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Help Pegasus establish our social media outreach. Helping us set up a Facebook page, twitter, etc.

Geographic areas served: Bases in the United States

USA locations: Career course taught at TwentyNine Palms Marine Base, California.

Mission:

Pegasus Military Family Foundation's mission is to provide training seminars to military members, their families and civilians in the areas of:

Corporate Interviewing Skills
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
Domestic Violence Prevention
Community and Workplace inservices - Hire a Veteran!

Results:

Since 2003 Pegasus has conducted numerous interviewing classes for veterans along with follow up care at no charge to the veteran. Many veterans either have a job or interviews scheduled upon completion of the course.

Other courses taught include managing posttraumatic stress disorder. leadership issues in domestic violence and corporate workplace inservices.

The posttraumatic stress disorder and domestic violence workshops are taught as an adjunct with physicians, law enforcement agencies and military veteran programs.

The corporate workplace inservices are taught to corporations and workplace managers on hiring their best employees - our Veterans! Skill sets include how to handle an employee experiencing a flashback or trigger, business strategies for small employers to thrive while military employees are deployed.
