Description: Our City Forest is a non-profit organization that provides trees to San Jose residents. Since 1994, more than 50,000 trees have taken roots and made our city a more beautiful and healthier place to live.
Target demographics: Residents of the San José and the greater South Bay.
Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: plant large shade trees at schools and parks in the city of San Jose, CA, maintaining and inventorying street trees, help at Our City Forest office, help out at our tree nursery, and more!

Mission:
The mission of Our City Forest is to cultivate a green and healthy San José metropolis by engaging community members in the appreciation, protection, growth and maintenance of our urban ecosystem, especially our urban forest.
Results:
Our City Forest have planted over 50,000 shade trees in San José since 1994 and is maintaining 2 tree nurseries.

I had a chance to work with the Our City forest Staff while planting trees with the TJ Martin Jeffery Fontana Parks association. I found the experience to be very rewarding. We learned how to plant trees and how to take care of their root. It really like the fact that I can tell my kids that I ...

What a terrific nonprofit! I was a neighborhood association leader for many years, and worked actively with OCF to restore the treescape of our neighborhood which had been neglected for decades. They work enthusiastically, tirelessly, and with expert skill. Also, their cost efficiency is amazing...
