Mission:
Obstetric fistula is a devastating childbirth injury that affects more than two million women and girls in poor countries around the world. After prolonged labor without medical intervention, most fistula sufferers will lose their child and all are left with an injury resulting in incontinence. Most are then abandoned by their husband and ostracized by their community.One By One seeks to help eliminate obstetric fistula worldwide, just as it was eliminated in the United States at the turn of the 20th century.
