Mission:
The National Research Center for Women & Families and our Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund is unique: we use research to prevent cancer and other diseases and to help people stay healthy and safe. Most medical and health decisions are influenced by financial interests -- companies are selling their products and health providers are selling their services. Our Center is different: we are completely unbiased. We examine the facts and help empower women and men to get the best possible medical care. We also fight for better programs and policies to help Americans be safe and healthy.



Whether fighting against misleading ads for medical products, or explaining the advantages and disadvantages of the latest experimental treatment, we fight for better programs and policies, we give away health and safety information for free, and we help reshape the public debate on important issues that affect all of our lives everyday.

In 1968, at the age of 22, I received silicone implants after a bilateral mastectomy.
