Mission:
My Sister's Place is committed to eradicating domestic violence. We started as a project of the Women's Legal Defense Fund in 1976 and opened our doors as an emergency shelter in 1979. We focus on helping women become emotionally and economically self-sufficient - through counseling, job training and in finding housing.
Our goal is to help women empower themselves and take control of their own lives.

I found the programs and services to be comprehensive and holistic for children, youth, and families. The persons that are served by this agency have experienced trauma from birth through adulthood. In the case of the women, the domestic violence they exprienced is only one trauma in their lives. ...
