Description: Staff works with veterans and their families to design and install granite plaques on the Mt. Soledad Memorial Walls. Staff also coordinates our volunteer corps, manages our honor, Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies, monitors the site, maintains our website and responds to inquiries.

Target demographics: United States Veterans, living and deceased, honorably discharged from any branch of the military, living anywhere in the United States.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 200 Individual Veterans

Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Raise or lower the flag. Serve as a docent on the site. Help the office with mailings - membership drive, etc.. Assist with staging an honor ceremony or with one of our major Memorial Day or Veterans Day events.

Mission:
To honor and remember veterans, living and deceased.
Results:
We built a magnificent monument to veterans that includes six granite-covered walls, walkways, a memorial cross and a flagpole on a half-acre site with the most spectacular vista in San Diego. To date we have installed over 2,700 granite plaques on those memorial walls honoring veterans from all wars and all areas of the country.

It was a perfect place to visit and the Veteran walls are beautiful granite plaques telling stories of war heroes from the Civil war right to the Iraq war. I was so touched it may be cry.
