Mission:

Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue is dedicated to rehabilitating and providing a second chance to German shepherds and shepherd mixes that have been abandoned, abused, lost, strayed, or surrendered. Through our community outreach events around the Mid-Atlantic region, we teach and encourage responsible pet ownership and pet population control. Our all-volunteer organization works diligently to locate loving and responsible owners who wish to make their new dog(s) members of their family -- forever. MAGSR remains committed to helping end the needless overpopulation, death, abuse, and neglect of dogs in our area and in improving the lives of the dogs as well as their new owners

I first became aware of MAGSR when the lady who ran the Combined Federal Campaign for my Agency spoke highly of them. I have volunteered by walking the kennel dogs, transporting them to the Vet's, and doing home visits. I have observed many volunteers donating significant amounts of time and ... more »

That's very troubling to me. i recently paid the $10 fee under "application" or "apply now" next to Sugar's photo since her description matches exactly what i'm looking for, but if this dog belongs to someone who really wants her back then how can they place her with someone else? I can not support or recommend the Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue to anyone. I know of a of a dog who was taken into the rescue by a family other then its own and while the dog is clearly micro-chipped and the real owner would love to have her back, they are refusing to let her have her dog ... more »
