Mission:
KIT believes that all persons have a right to belong and should be recognized and valued, regardless of differences in ability.  KIT is committed to developing the capacity of individuals and organizations to embrace inclusion.  To that end, KIT supports recreational, child and youth development organizations that include children with and without disabilities.  Our goals are to enrich the lives of all who participate and to increase understanding and acceptance of disabilities as a natural part of life.
Results:
Since 1997, KIT has facilitated the inclusion of over 15,500 children with disabilities through KIT affiliated sites.  KIT has trained over 22,000 youth and child development professionals on the best practices of inclusion.

We do not track the number of children served by the agencies we work with outside of San Diego County, but the impact of creating inclusive environments is just as powerful in communities across the country.

KIT received its IACET (International Association for Continuing Education & Training) certification in 2010, making it eligible to offer Continuing Education Units for its workshops.
