Mission:
Founded in 1977, the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) continues Dr. Goodall's pioneering research into chimpanzee behavior, research which transformed scientific perceptions of the relationship between humans and animals. Today, the Institute is a global leader in the effort to protect chimpanzees and other animals in their African habitats. It is widely recognized for its innovative, community-centered conservation and development programs across Africa and its education program, Roots & Shoots, now operating in more than 90 countries.

I read Jane Goodall's book '' In the Shadow of Man'' and I was blown away by the whole story. I was moved powerfully by the study of the Gombe chimps and the way their lives unfolded. From there I grabbed as much of Janes writings as possible to build up my knowledge and awareness.
