Mission:
Founded in 1979 by Howard "Rocky" Stone, the Hearing Loss Association of America is a national non-profit, educational organization including 14 stae organizations and 200 local chapters. Membership in the organization includes a subscription to Hearing Loss, an award-winning, bi-monthly journal. HLAA also offers a wide variety of publications, an annual convention, a network of groups and chapters and more. Our primary purpose is to educate ourselves, our families, and others about hearing loss. HLAA is the leading voice in improving communication access for people with hearing loss. HLAA believes people with hearing loss can help themselves and one another to use their residual hearing and function within mainstream society.
