Mission:

Greensboro Opera Company is a community based, not-for-profit opera company that is dedicated to enriching its community with the tradition of grand opera by presenting fully staged professional opera productions of the highest artistic quality throughout the season to an appreciative an loyal audience; to improving Greensboro's cultural opportunities in order to create a more attractive community in which to foster business growth and development; to bring opera to under-served areas and populations of North Carolina through collaborative musical productions as well as other educational outreach events; to sustaining existing ties with community donors, both individual and institutional, while developing methods to attract and retain new donors; and to providing opportunities for local, talented, young emerging artists and technicians to participate in professional productions that further their artistic careers.

FANTASTIC local opera company bringing in national and local talent. The only thing holding this company back is a lack of funds and a need for more support from the community it enriches... more »

I first enjoyed Greensboro Opera last November when they presented a charming, beautilyy sung "La Traviata". A shortage of funds had necessitated cuts in spending. They wisley chose to focus foremost on quality singers and created a memorable evening. I am eagerly awaiting their next production. ... more »
