Target demographics: Virtually all of disadvantaged women with whom Goodwill works have never finished high school, have migrated to Bangkok from poorer rural provinces in search of employment to support their family, are single or separated/divorced and have to support their parents and children back home. For those who are currently employed, the majority of the women find themselves in informal employment characterized by unstable income and poor working conditions (e.g. factories, construction, and temporary jobs, including work in the sex trade).

Mission:

Goodwill’s mission statement is to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged Thai women through education, skills training and career services.

Results:

We are planning to launch a feeder branch in the poor Northeastern province of Ubon Rachathani in order to provide women in this region with services similar to those we offer in Bangkok, in addition to helping prepare those who plan to move to Bangkok with job leads. We’re very excited about this program but still need additional funds to implement it. For more information please contact Goodwill.

I was a volunteer to teach English for Goodwill back in 2008. This organisation really cares about disadvantaged women and actively helps them to have a better life.
