Family Connection is a catalyst for change within families, schools, and the community. Through a team approach that includes families, the Easton Area School District, and community organizations, we improve academic performance, the quality of life, and the strength of our community.

Results to date:
This year we are celebrating our 10th year of helping children achieve academic success! Our key accomplishments for this year were:
• provided ongoing family support services to 29 families at Cheston, 25 families at Paxinosa, 16 families at Palmer, two families at March, and one family at Tracy Elementary Schools;
• expanded family support services to March and Tracy Elementary Schools;
• provided support to school nurses during 31 school-based dental service visits at Cheston, Paxinosa, and Palmer Elementary Schools;
• created a family support handbook and replication guide that was shared at the annual Family Involvement Conference;
• prepared 35 preschool-age children and their families for school success through the Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP);
• graduated 16 children from the Parent-Child Home Program in a ceremony at the Easton Area Public Library;
• held several special events for PCHP students including a Green Eggs and Ham breakfast, health night at Cheston Elementary School, storytime at the southside branch of the library, and a trip to the firehouse;
• participated in school events such as math and literacy nights, PTA meetings, open houses, kindergarten orientations, health days, and staff meetings at Cheston, Paxinosa, and Palmer Elementary Schools;
• provided child care for 119 children during Parent-Teacher Conference Weeks at Cheston and Paxinosa Elementary Schools;
• held two Parents Who Care parenting groups with 13 families participating;
• supported 45 Cheston students through afterschool academic and enrichment activities at Cheston Elementary Schools;
• held five family nights for CCLC/afterschool families at Cheston;
• funded arts days at Cheston and Paxinosa Elementary Schools;
• provided snacks to all 3rd and 4th grade students at Cheston and Paxinosa Elementary Schools during PSSA testing week;
• provided 3019 snacks and 2147 dinners for afterschool programs at Cheston Elementary School through the At-Risk Afterschool Snack Program;
• distributed holiday bags including healthy snacks, a coloring book and crayons, pencils, gloves, and a hat to 100 families;
• held two health insurance sign up nights for families at Paxinosa, Palmer, and Cheston Elementary School;
• provided transportation to school meetings, clothing, toiletries, and household goods to families as needed;
• held a summer arts camp for 11 students; and
• distributed a summer fun booklet describing summer activities in Easton to all K-6 students.
