Mission:
The lives of millions of African children have been devastated by war, disease, poverty and injustice. Every Child Ministries seeks to accomplish its purpose by providing direct compassionate aid to abandoned and needy children, working for the release and rehabilitation of child slaves, providing training and teaching materials to African churches, enabling them to establish and strengthen Sunday schools and other youth ministries, offering Bible teaching in the schools, and providing assistance to war-affected children. At the discretion of the local churches who know the needs of their community best, the Sunday schools may teach practical subjects like health, nutrition and literacy in addition to character building stories from the Bible. Our goal, as God enables us, is to help every village or neighborhood in Africa that desires to start or strengthen such a ministry.

Every Child Ministries was founded in 1985 after John and Lorella Rouster saw children forcibly expelled from churches because there was insufficient room to seat children and adults at the same time, and because the churches had no idea how to teach the children separately. Our programs have expanded to meet many needs of African children, who will be the future leaders of the continent. ECM is especially committed to children normally marginalized by society.

Results:
This year we were able to free 52 victims of ritual servitude in Ghana and offered two vocational training seminars to help these start new lives. We are also sending 2 of them to longer term vocational training, and we started a boutique to help them sell survivor-made goods in Ghana.
In Uganda we helped 75 displaced families resettle and expand their agricultural work to better feed their families.
We are also expanding our educational capacity at Haven of Hope Academy in Ghana, building a junior high school. 47 children now find safety, shelter and love at Haven of Hope Children's home in Ghana.
In Uganda we expanded a project to help a child who had been ritually abused and then discarded in a sack and began a program to help Karimojong beggar children in Kampala.
