Mission:
ECHO began in the early 1970’s when an Indiana businessman, Richard Dugger, visited Haiti and was led to start an organization dedicated to helping hungry people learn how to feed themselves. Dr. Martin Price became the Executive Director in 1981 and ECHO, Educational Concerns for Hunger Organization, began to focus on strengthening the ministries of missionaries, national churches and development workers as they assist small farmers or urban gardeners in developing countries. ECHO is a growing network for sharing information, ideas, techniques, seeds, methods, designs, books, materials, and solutions for fighting world hunger.
