Mission

Results to date:

A sample of results from students attending our CIS Academies:

* Students achieved an average increase of 3 grade levels in reading and 2.5 grade levels in math (2006).

* Of the students completing our Academy programs in 2006, 60% continued to post-secondary education; 36% entered full-time employment, and 4% entered the military.

A sample of results from our CIS In-School Services:

*CIS coordinated over 600 volunteer hours and worked with over 150 partnering businesses and organizations to serve 2,700 students last program year.

*Of CIS-tracked students, 95% improved their academic achievement (Rooney Middle School 2005-2006)

Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 2,700 children and youth (2005-2006)

Indirect beneficiaries per year: The families, classmates, teachers, and our communities as a whole

Obstacles:

Securing ongoing support for our growing organization is always a challenge.

What your donation will allow us to do:

Every financial gift and gift-in-kind donation is important to us. They enable us to work with educationally at-risk children and youth to:

* continue to help students in serious danger of dropping out stay in school and complete his/her diploma.

* continue to help students who have already dropped out of school get a second chance to earn a high school diploma from their home school district.

* continue to provide the link between schools and the community by bringing caring volunteers and service providers into the schools to address children’s unmet needs.

* continue the Bridges Development Program for children whose brain function is under-developed.

* continue after-school and summer programing.
