Target demographics: Teens ages 11-18 struggling for any reason in today's challenging world.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 600 teens received intensive services in 2010-11, including tutoring, individual coaching, before- or after- school academic programs, case managment, dropout prevention services, workforce readiness skills, community service projects, interviewing skills and individual coaching.An additional 1,282 students received short-term, incidental, or referral services during the year. 326 parents participated in CIS programs and student support activities.

Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Tutor, coach, mentor, teach, guide, or enrich a young person's life.

Geographic areas served: Nassau County Florida

I have been involved since i was 24 yrs old, I knew that i wanted to direct my time and effort to a charity that involved kids. um...o have benn i c.i.s. for a year now this year will be two years.it helped me alot last year.it got be on a,b, horoll.it encheraged be to do more of my work and projects.it helped me do better in school.and in many more things... more »

C.I.S is a big help my mom is a teacher and i have to get here early, it also helps when i get home late and cant do my homework i have teachers to help me in the morning and after our home work is over we can play games with friends i enjoy all the teachers and friends! last year i helped tutor the... more »
