Target demographics: Homeless women and children in Central Indiana
Direct beneficiaries per year: 16 residents called Beauty for Ashes their home in 2011
Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Provide child care, copy papers & stuff entry packets, help with mailing, walk in the Homeward Bound Walk, sort donations, provide an outing for a family or for all residents, run errands, help plan and execute fund raisers, do household repairs, use graphic arts experience to design a pamphlet.

Results:
Former residents are living independently.
Residents have earned GED's, CNA's and taken college classes. They have secured employment. They have birthed and nurtured babies during the first year of life, They have learned life skills, and emotional management and parenting skills. Their lives have stabilized and children are kept on a regular schedule. Several have rededicated their lives to Christ.

I was once an resident of beauty for ashes. It is an great organization to help the homeless women and children. I really appreciate them to open their door to help me to learn and go. I wish all business help beauty for ashes, the money and donation will help the ladies in need...

I teach the FNP (Family Nutrition Program) classes through Purdue Extension. I have worked with Beauty for Ashes for years. I go in to teach a group or an individual the nine-lesson series. The focus is on quick, inexpensive, healthy meals. They spend time learning nutrition information ...
