Description: BVA is the only Veterans Service Organization exclusively dedicated to serving the needs of blind or visually impaired veterans. We have over 11,000 members, but we offer services to any vet in need, whether they are a member or not. Our Board of Directors are all blinded veterans themselves, and they understand the challenges facing blinded and visually impaired veterans. BVA was found in 1945 by a group of combat-blinded World War II soldiers at an Army convalescent hospital in Connecticut, and we have been lending assistance to veterans in need ever since.
