Becky Lee Womens Support Fund
Mission:
Becky Lee Women's Support Fund (Becky's Fund) was founded in November 2006 by Becky Lee, an advocate and attorney for battered women's rights. In working with small non-profits over the last 8 years, Ms. Lee had seen how often the problem of insufficient funding hurt the chances for domestic violence organizations to provide continuous support for battered women. After seeing the lack of support for small domestic violence organizations, she decided to create an organization to help both battered women and other organizations that fight domestic violence continue the work they were doing on behalf of these battered women. Our mission includes:
1.Foster awareness: Help people understand the elements of domestic violence through education, such as its prevalence, why battered victims cannot always leave easily, and what can be done to fight against domestic violence.
2.Encourage advocacy: Encourage people to care about and help put an end to domestic violence.
3.Promote activism: Take an active role in helping battered victims find safety through counseling, education and legal representation.
4.Create support: Provide support for victims of domestic violence.
