Target demographics: We serve the general public, youth through adults, however recent statistics from the American Census indicate that up to 38.8 percent of youth under the age of 18 in Balch Springs live below the poverty level.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 200 youth and adults were served in 2010 - as audience members, performers, students, instructors, and artists

Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Assist in the office, assist at a fundraising event, assist in our Young Entrepreneur program, be trained to speak as a representative for the organization

Mission:

Our mission is to provide opportunities for cultural enrichment through broad-based educational experiences and quality performances and art showings to people of all ages.

Results:

We spent a lot of time this raising funds to cover the costs of our new facility. We share a 1,200 square foot space with the chamber of commerce. In the past we scheduled other location in the city to offer services and programs but this new space allows us to expand our impact and our services.

There should be an option to choose several roles above. The Arts alliance encourages total participation by everyone including performing, volunteering, donating, conducting and taking classes, attending functions and much more. I run an internet magazine and have worked with the Balch Springs Arts Alliance on a few events and I have seen first hand how much they work towards benefiting the city. They support our local Youth and work very hard to bring a wonderful program of arts & entertainment to the citizens of Balch ... more »

I have been to many of the performances of the Balch Springs Visual and Performing Arts Alliance. It's a mixture of seasoned and unseasoned performers.
