Description: Avivara is dedicated to improving the quality of and access to education in Guatemala, especially in its most poverty-impacted rural areas. It is also focused on developing understanding between the peoples of Guatemala and the United States.

Target demographics: Children living in poverty-impacted villages in the highlands of Guatemala

Direct beneficiaries per year: over 1200 students in 8 village schools

Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Develop a community based fund-raising activity such as a car-wash, bake sale, or make a presentation regarding our programs to a local school, church or community group.
