Target demographics: Angel's Pediatric Heart House serves families of newborn children to age 18 affected by congenital heart defects who reside in Broward, Palm Beach or Dade Counties, Florida or who are being treated at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, Miami Children's Hospital or Holtz Children's Hospital/Jackson Memorial in Florida.

Direct beneficiaries per year: In 2010, we will have visited close to 400 CHD families in the hospital and distributed 400+ hospital care packages.

Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Volunteers with three hours to spare could participate in our quarterly family fun days to help with registration, setting up, serving, games and cleaning up.

Mission:

The mission of Angel's Pediatric Heart House (APHH) is to provide emotional, social and financial support to families affected by congenital heart defects (CHD) who reside in or are being treated in the South Florida area--Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties and to promote and increase CHD awareness on a local and national level.

Results:

Through our recent partnership with Gifts In-Kind International's Retail Donation Partner program, we have been able in the last six months to distribute close to $25,000 worth of baby items to CHD families through our hospital outreach program. This year we were able to increase our financial support to CHD parents with a child in the hospital through increased donor support and community awareness.

Angel's Pediatric Heart House has supported my family during and after my son's heart surgeries. The founder, Sonia, visited my son in the hospital and has generously given him gifts that were greatly appreciated. The Angels Pediatric Cardiology Inc. is exceptionally helpful to the south Florida families of children with congenital heart disease in providing support, donated supplies, hospital visits, educational program in 2011 and activites for the families. APHH is a great organization run by a selfless individual with little to gain but the rewards received when helping others.
