Description: Since 1989, Abode Services (formerly the Tri-City Homeless Coalition) has worked to end homelessness in our community. Our work consists of three primary aspects:

1. Shelter and other emergency services
2. Transitional and permanent housing
3. Support services to help people stay in their homes

Our services work to address a broad range of needs, from immediate assistance with shelter and food to help finding and keeping secure housing.

Target demographics: Homeless and low-income families and individuals in Alameda County. Several of our programs provide service coordination for specific populations (e.g., individuals with disabilities, or youth aging out of the foster system).

Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Prepare and serve a meal at our emergency shelter, tutor a student, greet visitors at the front desk, lead an activity in our Children's Program, help a resident revise a resume and cover letter - if you're interested in helping, we're interested in hearing from you!

Mission:

Abode Services believes everyone should have a home. Every day we provide housing and services to homeless people in our community while working to end the cycle of homelessness.
