Mission
Able Flight’s mission is to offer people with disabilities a unique way to challenge themselves through flight training, and by doing so, to gain greater self-confidence and self-reliance.

Target demographics:
Able Flight serves a diverse population of people with disabilities, including, but not limited to, those with spinal cord injuries, Cerebral Palsy, MS, and loss of limb(s).
Results to date:
Able Flight was founded in June of 2006, and awarded its first flight training scholarships in December of 2006. Since then it has awarded 22 scholarships, and eleven recipients are now licensed pilots, with several currently in training and others scheduled to begin in late 2009.
What your donation will allow us to do:
Donations benefit the scholarship fund.
Your donation of $100 enables us to:
provide one hour of flight training.
Your donation of $1500. enables us to:
provide a “Flight Training Challenge Scholarship” for a person with a disability who will be challenged by the experience, but may not be in a position to train for a full pilot’s license.
Your donation of $8000 enables us to:
provide a full training scholarship which includes all flight and ground training, testing, books and manuals and travel and lodging as required.
Board Members and Affiliation:
Able Flight’s board includes a flight instructor, an aviation medical examiner, a wounded veteran who flies his own plane using a prosthetic arm.
