What an amazing organization! I cannot say enough good things! The work the Playwrights Project does for the San Diego community is so wonderful. What a joy and a treat to get to see the imaginations of San Diego youth come to life.

I saw my friend's piece produced by the Playwright's Project and I was amazed by the work that was created.
Not only was I amazed at the playwright work but also the work of the actors and producers.
The productions I saw seemed incredibly professional and well beyond my expectations.
It was a great time and they do some incredible work.

Playwrights Project provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for young playwrights: the chance to see their words come alive onstage, employing professional actors, directors, designers, and mentors to allow what once resided only in their imaginations to become a physical reality.

Playwrights Project is an amazing organization that teaches playwriting to youth and seniors in San Diego county.

Playwriting residencies allow for creative expression in schools where that freedom gets more and more restrictive with current test-driven curriculum. I have seen it help English learners explore the language in a way that is more visual and conversational...more familiar and appealing to them.

It also exposes students to the world of theatre and the personal empowerment that can be found there. I just finished a residency where a student created a play expressing abuse that she has been experiencing at home. The play will be used in future therapy sessions and establishing her case for removal to a safe home.

I love this program and worked to bring it to my own daughter's school...for her entire 6th grade. They loved it!
