Four women started a group for writers. They were writers and wanted the experience of meeting, talking and exchanging ideas with other writers. Ths organization has grown, attracting more members and contributing to the Plateau area. PAWA stands for an organization that has become well-known.

We just finished a meeting where many of the Plateau Area Writers (PAWA) published authors presented a short reading of their books to entice those listening to read more. It was a great meeting of the PAWA members in Enumclaw, Washington.

I got to know the Plateau Area writers from a college creative writing class. They have helped me publish a book. The organization is everything I expected from a group of writers. They help writers form critique groups. I am in two of their critique groups. They support community arts, culture and humanities.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Many members have published books, presented readings and discussed their writings on the radio.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Obtain a grant to help more budding writers accomplish their goals and document memoirs.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The mutual fellowship and learning experiences of Plateau Area Writers (PAWA)is wonderful.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Energetic and helpful people volunteer for PAWA.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Award all the young writers in all the schools and colleges in the state for excellence in creative writing.

Ways to make it better...

We would have helped school children with writing more often than once a year.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

The biggest challenge is to encourage the young people to carry forward the goals.

One thing I'd also say is that...

We all need to encourage more reading and writing for the future world to grow with intelligence.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month
