This is an absolutely amazing school making remarkable strides in one of the lowest performing districts in Maricopa County. The leadership is engergizing, knowledgeable and most importantly interested in making a difference in the lifes of children. If I had school aged children, I would send them to this school.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I have seen the improvment in the reading comprehension with the group of students I read with on a weekly basis.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Make sure more people aware of the great education provided in this school.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
getting to know the educators and the students.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
energetic, enthusiastic, and extremely knowledgeable.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
buy supplies for one student for one semester.
Ways to make it better...
the facilities were larger.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
financial.
One thing I'd also say is that...
being involved in PCA is a rewarding experience.

An incredible achievement of taking an old bowling alley in an older, economically-challenged Phoenix area and converting it into a school where local children can expand their opportunities including the realistic long-term goal of achieving a college education.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
touring the campus to witness the well-organized learning environment, sat in on classroom activities to see first-hand how well the educational model is working, and I have listened to the passionate instructors discuss their motivations and successes.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
build a site where physical education/recreation activities could take place. While these teachers and students are making the most of their in-class learning environment, these young adults need physical activities to help round their education.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
how they have truly made the most out of the little resources available.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Bright, self-motivated, and strongly believed in the mission of the school.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
probably organize five schools with the same educational model (and the need exists).
Ways to make it better...
I could hear feedback from some of the parents of PCA students to get an idea of the transforations their children are experiencing on the home front.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
achieving the goal of adding a new age level each new year until the school has 6th through 12th Grade education.
One thing I'd also say is that...
this is just an amazing achievement how far the PCA has come, and yet there is still so much more work ahead.

PCA is a great school that is putting college front and center in front of a population whose parents' didn't have that option. The school does amazing work with limited resources, and it is an inspiring story.

PCA is an amazing school that I had the privilege of serving as a founding board member. Rachel leads the school with her passion, enthusiasm, and rigor- and she is a true inspiration to all those around her. The students of PCA show the same qualities as their leader; they strive to achieve and ultimately go to college, a dream that may have seemed unattainable before PCA.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Sharing with others that high-quality education is possible for all students and that it takes the dedication of the student, their parent(s), and the community to make it possible.

PCA is a charter school which takes any child who wants to work hard in order to be well prepared for college. Most of the students have family support but no family member who has graduated from college. These students haven't learned how to study and have gaps in their education. PCA teachers find each students weak area and help the student gain confidence while learning
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
PCA 's physical building was a bowling alley which has been converted into a school. Ernie Hostetler and Mark Leinweber have donated their time to create a 5 year plan and find other building trades who have donated or work for greatly reduced rates
