Mission: The Philadelphia Children’s Foundation (PCF), founded in 2006, was created to bridge the educational and career opportunity divide between urban and suburban students. Our key initiative, the Philadelphia Children’s Connection (www.philly-connect.org), is a continually expanding virtual gateway of resources that will help thousands of students, parents, teachers, mentors, and service providers achieve academic success, build stronger family foundations, and increase career prospects. By facilitating a community of non-profits, increasing awareness of local resources in the area, and having career-centered programs, we will increase high school graduation rates and post-secondary enrollment, create safer streets, and increase career opportunities.

I can't say enough about how important PCF's technology distribution program is. I donated a computer and am working on getting more from friends and colleagues.

It is key that young people in particular continue to have ready access to PC technology and in our current climate of cutbacks for public education, PCF is filling an ever increasing void that can't be filled elsewhere. John Bannan and his staff need to be commended for recognizing a need and finding a way to try to fill it.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

school environments where these resources are increasingly scarce due to our economy and ever increasing challenges to public education.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

like to help PCF get more publicity in their efforts.

It is nice to know that money donated is being used locally to help Philadelphia children. I typically never donate money but after seeing and hearing all the great things PCF does for Philly kids, it was a no brainer.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the smiling faces as kids got the opportunity to perform activities that were previously unavailable to them.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

not make any changes.

PCF provides desperately needed service and support for school children througout Philadlephia. Considering the large number of children that are either unaware of or do not have access to the services necessary for their future success PCF's mission is critical.

Our company worked with PCF to arrange a work place tour for a group of high school students to introduce them to the various career opportunities in the management of a high rise downtown office tower.

The mission of this organization may be the most worthwhile cause in Philadelphia. A price tag cannot be placed on giving children opportunities they may not have had otherwise. I personally learned so much about teamwork and challenging myself throughout my college rowing career. Help make the PCF Regatta bigger to fund more boats of kids rowing on a more regular basis!

Seeing kids take pride in successfully moving a boat across the water.
