Issues: Children & Youth, Education, Economic Development

Location: 7600 Stenton Ave Suite 1B Philadelphia PA 19118 USA

Mission: The Philadelphia Children’s Foundation (PCF), founded in 2006, was created to bridge the educational and career opportunity divide between urban and suburban students. Our key initiative, the Philadelphia Children’s Connection (www.philly-connect.org), is a continually expanding virtual gateway of resources that will help thousands of students, parents, teachers, mentors, and service providers achieve academic success, build stronger family foundations, and increase career prospects. By facilitating a community of non-profits, increasing awareness of local resources in the area, and having career-centered programs, we will increase high school graduation rates and post-secondary enrollment, create safer streets, and increase career opportunities.

PCF is committed to ensuring that all of our young people in Philadelphia have opportunities to thrive in education. They help to provide libraries in schools that sadly do not have any. They help to mentor our teens by connecting them with professionals who can aspire them to achieve. I am glad to be a supporter of PCF and I urge others to join me.

The work the Philadelphia Children's Foundation is doing with their Career Club Program in the Philadelphia School District is having a tremendous impact. It is important for young people to be able to see different careers and begin the life planning process. This program should be implemented throughout the city because career development is vital.

PFC staff are knowledgable, organized and caring. In carrying out their mission I met with students to assist in learning about presentation skills which will assist to increase career prospects. Being able to share information to the youth of the future takes just a small amount of time to make an impact. I look forward to a continued relationship with PFC and the growth of their organization.

PCF is a great non-profit that young students can only benefit from. They have extended their program to a few Philadelphia Public schools that are in high demand for people who care about the outcome of our youth. I believe this foundation will do great things for our inner city youth!

PCF provides desperately needed service and support for school children througout Philadlephia. Considering the large number of children that are either unaware of or do not have access to the services necessary for their future success PCF's mission is critical.

The mission of this organization may be the most worthwhile cause in Philadelphia. A price tag cannot be placed on giving children opportunities they may not have had otherwise. I personally learned so much about teamwork and challenging myself throughout my college rowing career. Help make the PCF Regatta bigger to fund more boats of kids rowing on a more regular basis!

I volunteered at the Philadelphia Childrens Foundation for three months during the Summer. I helped with a book drive where this non-profit organization donated 1000 books to Dunbar Elementary School. I also helped with the expansion of PCFs career-centered website, which has age-specific pages connecting students to information and activities that fosters success. I went to a resource fair in which we handed out information about PCF so more and more Philadelphia residents can be aware of the helpful resource website PCF has. I also helped with PCF's annual regatta. The regatta was a fundraising event with proceeds going to the expansion of PCFs resource website and towarads the development of outreach programs. Philadelphia Childrens Foundation changes the lives of children, teens, and adults in Philadelphia everyday. I am very happy I had the opportunity to volunteer for them.

Tell your story here and help others understand this charity This non=profit attended an event held by Rep. Brendan Boyle and they did a great job. They informed parents of their various services and educated Rep. Boyle and our staff on how they can help us. The material that they provide is outstanding. Their Executive Director even helped out in our academic challenge as a moderator.
