As a call-intake volunteer, Lots of people call PCRC who are very upset about some disagreeable interaction they are having with someone else. I have had many opportunities to be a calm objective listening post and I always feel satisfied with the opportunity I have to help some very upset people find a manageable way forward. Because I came to PCRC after a serious depressive episode in my life, I appreciated the friendly approach they exhibited in training me and I found that helping other people really does bring more benefits to me than it does to the person I have helped. These all sound like cliches but they are true. I am personally grateful to PCRC for helping to give me the training and the opportunity to help other people. Sincerely, Carmala Walgren

I have been a volunteer with the PCRC for about 15 years and have seen it grow from a valuable service for resolving neighborhood disputes to a much broader community resource. From training kindergarteners to solve conflicts (and thereby their parents) to easing school bullying, preventing gang violence, building strong neighborhoods, and facilitating difficult ciy/county issues PCRC has become an essential element in civic peace.

Settling disputes between neighbors, employers/employees, merchants/customers, condo residents, and workplace associates. Large groups such as senior centers reach mututally acceptable solutions

The Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center is a five-star organization built upon the quality and dedication of its leadership and staff. Its numerous community programs have provided tremendous value to San Mateo County, and I am proud of my association with this fine organization.
