The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation is the champion of the forgotten victims of cancer--children. Dedicated individuals have embraced the challenge to improve the survival and quality of life of children, adolescents and young adults in their efforts to provide funding for basic and clinical research.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

improving the survival and quality of life for pediatric, adolescent and young adult cancer patients.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the dedication of the board of directors, staff and volunteers in assuring that the funds raised go directly to research.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

sincere in their dedication to the young patients suffering with cancer.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

save more children from this devastating disease.

Ways to make it better...

I could have raised more money for the foundation.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

children don't have an effective lobby in congress to procure the necessary funding for research.

I am a nurse with greater than 25 years experience caring for children with cancer in some capacity. I have been involved over the course of these years as a volunteer for PCRF since its inception. PCRF is a grassroots organization that has kept the spirit of “it’s for the kids” forefront in their fundraising efforts. They strive to raise awareness of the need to find a cure for all types of childhood cancer through research. Enormous strides have been made in survival rates for these children through the efforts of PCRF to turn research dollars into bedside treatments. My entire family has had the opportunity to volunteer at their fundraising events such as the golf tournament, auction, roundup, and run/walk. PCRF is made up of a wonderful group of staff and volunteers with big hearts that motivate their efforts to raise funds to cure this special group of wonderful children.

The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation is the most respected foundation that supports research into the causes and treatment of pediatric cancer today. Because of the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation we are that much closer to finding a cure for pediatric malignant diseases. I have had the honor to work with the leaders of the foundation on many worthwhile projects to benefit our pediatric cancer program here at Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA. Their leadership, dedication, organization, compassion, and determination is truly admired and appreciated by all. I strongly recommend the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation for this award.

I have been involved with PCRF since its beginning. I have seen outstanding benefits to children with cancer, their families, hospitals, physicians and nurses. The research generated through this organization has been responsible for new developments in treatments for childhood cancer. I am proud to write this review and support all the research and activities within this organization. I applaud all the staff and volunteers. Ginny Davenport
