I first met Dawn and Ivan in 2003/2004. I was so impressed and taken with their humility and sincerity in serving their kids, that i consider PeaceJam to be in the rarest of leagues. This organization walks their talk. They are the real deal. And they are changing kids lives - and they are inspiring hope and positive change in the communities they serve.

I have been involved in PeaceJam program for the last 10 years. I was in high school when I first took part in the program and I can say I am today a much better human being because of it. Having Nobel Peace Laureates as your mentor and role model has been an amazing experience.Whenever I have attended PeaceJam Conferences and been part of a service project - I get a sense of belonging to a community with everyone wiling to make this world a better place, listening to other youth talk about their daily inspiration and creating service projects to create a better community and a world has been truly satisfying and gratifying gift. I am forever thankful to what PeaceJam has brought in my life - Hope, love, inspiration, action and compassion.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

shifting consciousness from violent culture we have here to a peaceful one. In thousands of service projects that it's participants have created, how kids who have undergone this program do better in studies at school.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Be sooooooo happy.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Attending Conferences, slams, jams and service projects, family groups and meeting youth from variety of background yet everyone wants the same thing and making friends, meeting the awesome Nobel Laureates and hearing their stories.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Very nice, friendly, hardworking, fun, young and down to earth.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Spread it's program everywhere in the world. It would so cool for the whole world to come to know about PeaceJam and what it does - I think it will make this world a much peaceful place to live.

Ways to make it better...

If PeaceJam's curriculum was a part of school's main curriculum and not an after school program. I think I would have excelled in it if I got graded for it.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

When we paid our conference fees, we keep hearing them write to us and apologize for not able to give scholarship because they couldn't get any scholarship grants and they have no money. So I think finance is the biggest challenge for this organization.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I am forever grateful to this organization. I think this organization has changed my life forever and I will want to stay a part of it for the rest of my life - my kids can attend their program and then my grand kids.
