My experience with Partners in Torah has been wonderful, exciting, invigorating, educational, and heart warming. My partner and I've learned so much about living Jewishly, prayer, keeping a kosher home, observance, family communications and mentoring, and look forward to more learning and growth each week. I've shared my experience with other who have since joined Partners in Torah, and report the same benefits.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The commitment of my partner, weekly learning, and seeing changes and growth in myself as a Jew. I'm trying so hard to be more observant, and my partner helps me every week.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Kind, courteous and patient, as well as knowledgeable

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Expand its program to serve more participants, have an annual conference on a trip to Israel!

Partners in Torah is one of the best learning organizations out there. Their system of providing telephone/distance learning allows all Jews who want to understand Toray this opportunity. My Chavrusa and I have been learning for several years, and I have no intention of stopping any time soon. Their program is unique and very successful.

This organization made me so much more Jewish and appreciative of the unity of the Jewish community. Before, very religious people were "other" and I felt excluded by not knowing more--I was intimidated to learn more. Partners in Torah, though its VERY thoughtful matching process, connected me with Tzipora, an orthodox woman who has become one of my closest friends, my Jewish mentor, and personal role-model. She has lovingly guided me through learning about Judaism through texts and through simple discussions of our lives. My husband and I even spent Shabbat, staying over with her gorgeous family in Lakewood, NJ. My Partner in Torah has guided me to understand and appreciate the beauty of living Jewishly.

Both my husband and I have benefited from the telephone learning experience offered by Partners in Torah. We are becoming more observant in our Jewish practice, but don't have a large community near us. Being able to study from our home over the phone with wonderful, experienced mentors has enabled us to progress more quickly and with more confidence. Next month, we will continue this growth process as we make Aliyah to Israel.

Partners in Torah's efforts at outreach within the Jewish community has been yielding tremendous results. Their phone/mentor program has allowed previously unaffiliated Jews to connect with study partners to help them explore and learn more about their Jewish heritage from the comfort of their own home. With their single-minded goal of increasing Jewish awareness and Jewish learning, Partners in Torah is necessary more than ever today to help stem the tide of intermarriage. I personally have been a mentor and enjoyed learning with three different partners. These relationships have increased my love for learning and encouraged me to improve my own observance and has expanded my knowledge of the Torah and it's commandments.

Partners in Torah has allowed me to study one-on-one with a very learned teacher who is willing to learn with me at my convenience once a week over the phone. This allows me to maintain my commitment to learning, while having the advantage of doing it without having to leave my home or office. My partner is knowledgeable and conducts each session by reading the Hebrew and then immediatly translating it and then explaining it. We both enjoy the sessions, and I am very indebted to Partners in Torah for providing this opportunity to me and to thousands of others.

Partners in Torah has been one of the most useful, engaging tools I have ever encountered in learning Torah. My partner is amazing and we study together all the time. I'm very happy with the results, and it will only help to accelerate the coming of Moshiach speedily in our days, AMEN!

I love this organization. I've been a volunteer for more than six years and it's more fulfilling and exciting than any other organization I've ever volunteered for. I've met wonderful people and mentored them, but in the process I learned so much about myself. If you're considering volunteering for this program - do give it serious thought.

the people i've met are fantastic!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

greatly and dramatically increase its reach and serve a much greater population who so desperately need their services.

Ways to make it better...

I had more time to volunteer to work with additional students. hopefully after I retire this will be an option.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

lack of additional funding is a big thing holding back this organization. they've got a huge budget as I understand it and do their best, but there's more to be done.

I'm always suspicious of anything that sounds too good to be true, because almost all the time, it is. Partners in Torah is the true exception to this rule. There is absolutely no downside to joining this amazing organization, only an upside, whether you are a mentor or a student. Even if it cost something to join, the value would be worth the price. But to get the benefit of learning and mentorship and guidance in the convenience of your home, on your schedule, and then. . . . drumroll please. . . . they don't charge you a nickel, and they even care enough that a concerned staff person checks up on you to be sure your partnership is going well? Tell me where you'll find anywhere in the Jewish world an organization that does so much for so many and makes every single person involved feel that they are lucky to be included. Partners in Torah rocks!

Partners in Torah is an incredible organization. Its goal is clear - to give every Jew the opportunity to learn about any topic related to Judaism. There's no pressure, and there's no cost. There's only a helpful staff, advisors - and a sea of Torah. And! If you need anything - Tefillin, mezuzahs, referrals, advice - Partners in Torah is there to meet the needs of all Jews.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

...the way it addresses the needs of the Jewish community, the way the staff dedicates themselves to the participants, and the studying of Torah that fills the phone lines on a daily basis, thanks to Partners in Torah.
