Partners in Torah has been fantastic. I developed a wonderful relationship with an Orthodox Jew who reads Torah portions with me, and we discuss their philosophical implications and meanings. It has taught me so much about Jewish values, history and belief that I otherwise would not know, and it has made me far more familiar with the contents of the Torah.

Partners in Torah matched me with a mentor who called me every week (From Baltimore) to discuss various Jewish topics. I was interested in Jewish prayer and customs and my mentor was very knowledgeable. I also got regular calls from the organization regarding my progress, and a weekly piece on the weekly Torah Reading (Parsha Partners) which I still receive and read every week. All this totally free of charge.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My understanding of Jewish Ethics, Regular prayer, and living Jewishly. Most important: any service rendered by this organization is free to the participants, on our own schedule, with matched mentors.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Being able to discuss topics with someone in a non-threatnening environment. Friendship with my mentor. The regular weekly email "Parsha Partner" especially the Ask the Rabbi Section.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

N/A All done by telephone, which is exactly what I wanted.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Hold regional seminars once or twice a year that would be something I could afford.

My experience with Partners in Torah has been very good. I study with a Torah companion. I very much enjoy the experience of learning Torah values and ethics. We often study the writings of Rabbi Zelig Pliskin, such as Gateway to Happiness and Growth through Tehillim. Learning that Torah was meant to teach us how to live properly and to grow spiritually has been very helpful to me. My study partner is a very caring and committed man and he has helped go through some challenging times in my own life. That one on one connection has been a savior for me. I highly recommend Partners in Torah to any Jew who is interested in connecting with other Jews of any denomination to study Torah.

I have been learning with my partner for eight years now, and I can honestly say it has been one of the most fulfilling things I have ever committed to doing. I am happy to say that my partner no longer works on Shabbos (Saturday)and wound up marrying a Jewish Girl, which is so important in this day and age given the rampant assimilation that is sweeping the USA. I hope that my continuing phone meetings with my partner ( as well as the face to face time we have when I travel on ocassion to the city he lives in when my job dictates as much) will yield additional spiritual growth for both of us-for him as he raises his daughter with a greater awareness of the beauty of Torah based Judaism, and for me as I get a deeper appreciation for the spark that is contained in the soul of each and every Jew, no matter how unaware of their heritage they may be.

5 months ago I found out about this organization from a clipping my wife z"tl had cut out when I was going through her papers. From the beginning, Partners-in Torah was very cooperative and arranged an excellent knowledgeable study partner for me. I feel I am doing one of the things she would want me to do and would have told me directly but for the ravages of cancer. I appreciated the follow up call on how things were going.

This is an incredibly well organized and effective project. I have been active with them for about 15 years, first as a "client", then as a volunteer, and finally as a Jewish professional offering their programming to my congregants. Their attention to the need for chemistry between partners is key to much of their success, and they will not be satisfied unless their partners are satisfied. The followup is consistent. I cannot say enough good things about Partners in Torah.

How my life has changed.... I now have a completely integrated Jewish life, without giving up any of the interests and passions that made me who I am. I was inspired to give back, and have become a rabbi...

I am new to Partners in Torah and I am Baal Teshuva for just over 1 year with very little Jewish knowledge. I was surprised to find out that someone would be interested in taking someone with such limited knowledge. I am learning a lot, able to grow more spiritually as well as my level of knowledge and understanding. I have found this organization to follow its Mission Statement as stated. To allow all Jews the opportunity to learn and study. I wish I was able to donate more financially to help them continue to grow and expand.

via Partners in Torah I have been learning with someone who was not able to learn when he was brought up. The experience has been great, for myself too. And Partners in Torah has supplied good information to learn together, as well as periodically checks up on how things are going, and offers help. It's a great service that they are providing both for those brought up with a proper Jewish education and those not. I highly recommend it. I learn with my "partner" weekly, and look forward to that time. Thanks!

I have been involved with Partners in Torah for many years as a mentor. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with all of my students and have grown through the experience. The people at Partners in Torah are truly altruistic people who have no other goal than to bring Jews closer to Judaism. Their efforts should be supported and encouranged.
