In late November, 2008, I called Hopeline.
An operator on the phone saved my life.
I owe so much to those who volunteer for the hotline.

The Great!
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... helpful, understanding, and kind. The operator on the phone with me stopped me from committing suicide.
Ways to make it better!
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... lack of volunteers. I do admit there was a little wait on the line before someone spoke to me.
I was a Volunteer & I volunteered in the call center for over a year. I have seen the good work HopeLine does first hand. I also know the founder of HopeLine, Reese Butler, and have been inspired by his dedication to suicide prevention.

I have answered phones for HopeLine and now try to raise awareness and funds to further their noble goals and important mission.
Cassie has shared her HopeLine story and helped many, including me.

The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... I started a website called PostSecret and have seen many email messages and postcards from people detailing how HopeLine has save their, or a friends, life.
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... The people I have met through HopeLine have been competent, honorable and warm-hearted. I feel as though I am a better person for the time I spent as a volunteer there.
Ways to make it better!
- One thing I'd also say is that... If you need HopeLine, call . . . If you have been helped by HopeLine, tell others . . . If you have been inspired by HopeLine, like me, volunteer or help in the way best for you. Thanks, -Frank Warren
