I was in the Sunday school class where Mary Gray first announced that the Lord was calling her to establish the Bandanas ministry. Our Sunday school class has helped her raise money to purchase bandanas for the soldiers every since that day. I am one of the original board members and have watched in amazement how that we have gone from trying to raise funds to purchase the first 100 bandanas to now having given 100,000 bandanas to soldiers all over the world. The life changing testimonies from both the soldiers who receive these "free" bandanas and from the chaplains who distribute them are so encouraging to Mary, her board members, and all christians who know about this ministry. The Lord is truly in this ministry as it has now spread all over the USA. Mary has spread the message about this ministry through issuing a monthly news letter, traveling all across the country telling about the ministry, & writing numerous articles about the ministry. People, organizations & churches all over the country are now raising money to purchase bandanas with a goal of giving a bandanas to every deployed soldier.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

reviewing life changing letters & videos from soldiers and chaplains who have received/given out a bandanas.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

not change a thing. The Lord is in control of this ministry.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

watching the Lord lead & direct this ministry to the point that we have now distributed over 100,000 bandanas to deployed soldiers.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

concerned christians who cared about reaching deployed soldiers for Christ.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

purchase Psalm 91 bandanas for all the soldiers of every country in the world,

Ways to make it better...

I could have been there when a deployed soldier received a bandanas.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

contining to find ways to raise funds to purchase additional Psalm 91 bandanas.

One thing I'd also say is that...

we would welcome anyone who would like to join us in helping us raise funds to purchase Psalm 91 bandanas for all US deployed soldiers.

My son was in Iraq in 2006 and again in 2008 with USMC. When he deployed in '08, a friend of mine sent us a Bandana with the 91st Psalm on it....John folded it and put it between his heart and his flak jacket and wore it every day on missions. When he came home it smelled sooooo bad! (He was there Feb-Sept) I washed it, ironed it and had it framed for him for Christmas! He cried when he opened it and now has it hanging in his new home! Now, whenever I know of a soldier being deployed, I try to get a Bandana in his/her hand. It is a wonderful "witnessing" tool, I have had so many letters from soldiers thanking me. I know there have been seeds sown and God is watering, nurturing!! This is an amazing Ministry!!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Knowing how much it meant to my Son....watching God protect him!! Also, the feedback I have received from other soldiers!!

We are thankful we came across Operation Bandana on line last Fall. We have a son heading to Afghanistan in 4 weeks so we purchased enough bandanas for his platoon. We believe the greatest gift we can give to those who serve in harms way is the Word of God. Operation Bandana has made this easy to do by having Psalm 91 written on the bandanas as a daily reminder to our soldiers that God loves them and that he is hiding them under His wing. Operation Bandana also makes it easy for those in the community to show appreciation to those who serve our county. Donations are necessary to cover the cost and shipping of the bandanas and giving, on-line through pay pal, makes it easy to say thanks. A special thanks to Mary Gray for helping the West Point Prayer and Share group in Dallas be able to make a difference in the lives of our own sons and daughters and those they lead.

As President of the Board of Directors of Operation Bandanas for the past 15 months, as well as a Board Member and volunteer since its inception in 2006, I have been truly blessed by my association with this wonderful ministry. Also serving as webmaster for our website, I never cease to be touched by the many heartfelt thank you's and requests we receive from our Servicemen and women. Mary Gray's God-given inspiration to establish this ministry has not only reached out to over 104,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines but also has blessed every single volunteer who has ever worked with Operation Bandanas.

to see it grow and expand. From a mom wanting to support her son to an organization supporting tens of thousands of sons and daughters, this organization is awesome!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Compassionate, faithful, prayerful and absolutely dedicated to supporting our men and women in uniform.

Ways to make it better...

Can't think of a thing to improve on their plan and committment

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

maintaining the financial support to continue their mission

One thing I'd also say is that...

Operation Bandanas, begun in Fayetteville NC is truly a great non-profit organization dedicated to providing ministry and encouragement to soldiers in our armed forces. A simple Psalm 91 bandana has uplifted many and serves as continual encouragement to many. Mary Gray is a tireless person, led by God's spirit to be a blessing to soldiers and all members of our armed forces. This gruop does wonderful work!!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the lives of soldiers per their stories, and in the lives of the members that work in the non-profit. I have seen donors go beyond their first impulse when they see the work.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

continue the path this relatively new organization has charted, and seek to build it even faster.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the great people one gets to work with.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

wonderful people who see the huge sacrifice our military makes and would like to do something in return that is more personal, meaningful, and long lasting.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

equip all military personnel with a bandana, and move on to other ministries. This is a God led team.

Ways to make it better...

I could have stayed in NC and continued to work with this group.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

This organizaton desires to place a Bandana in the hands and hearts of every deployed military person. The vision is to equip another 150,000 soldiers with a Psalm 91 Bandana. A few larger donors are needed.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Mary Gray will be the receipient of many blessings, God's good and faithful servant.

I have been a part of OpBan since 6/08. It has been a real blessing to work along side of Mary Gray, Executive Director, and see her level of commitment I have helped fold bandanas and assisted in some of the administrative duties. It seems so amazing that what seems like a small effort can make such a positive impact on those who receive these ban- danas. God truly gets glory in even our small efforts.

Knowing that God's work is reaching out to our service men.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

It could more than meet the need for requests of bandanas.

Ways to make it better...

I am still experiencing the joys pf it.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

One main challenge is to obtain the financial support needed to keep up with the bandana requests.

One thing I'd also say is that...

God's word will never return void. It will impact each person who reads the PSalm 91 from the bandanas.

I wanted to write and tell you what a blessing Operation Bandanas has been to my soldiers. I have given away hundreds of these to U.S. servicemembers across Afghanistan. They become a precious, cherished gift of hope, comfort, and love. Servicemembers often put them in their helmets to absorb the perspiration of the desert heat and symbolically remind them of God's protection over them. Sometimes they simply put them in their pocket and then use them when needed. Other times, when a soldier I am counseling will begin crying, I will present them with one of these to wipe their tears away. What a blessing to be reminded of God's protection over your life every time you pull it out. The Psalm 91 bandana is a very relevant way for every servicemember to take the comforting, Holy words of the Bible with them wherever they go. Mary Gray and her staff are kind, courteous, and caring professionals. They are the best--God bless them. Chaplian Eric Bundrick, US Army Afghanistan

As Huddle Sponsor for the Middle School Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Ouachita Christian School in Monroe, LA, I was the facilitator for an Operation Bandanas campaign at our school (Grades Pre-K - 12). Each child who purchased a bandana made a card accompanied by a personal note to go with his or her individually packaged bandana. The children thoroughly enjoyed participating in this project and became more aware of our military, motivating the students to keep the soldiers in their prayers. This is a most worthwhile project!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the interest that the students have shown in the military as a result and the positive feedback I have received from the soliders who were recipients of the bandanas. A couple of the students "hand carried" bandanas to family members in the service.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

be just like Mary Gray!!!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

knowing that our school has provided soldiers away from home with not only God's Word, but something that is useful, as well.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

provide a bandana for every member of our military.

Ways to make it better...

I had had acess to acitive military personnel who could have helped to promote the campaign.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

getting the information out to the public, because I believe there are many people who would like to participate, if they only knew about it.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I only regret that we weren't able to send more than we did!

Operation Bandanas is an EXCEPTIONAL non-profit organization. Not only are they finding a way to support our troops, but they are doing it with a wonderful spiritual message that our men & women in harms way need to hear. These bandanas provide our heroes with much more than just a piece of fabric. They give them spiritual food, a shield of protection, a cloth to wipe their brow, and much more. These bandanas have touched so many lives & I know they will do amazing things for so many more!

The Great!
