Because of my own illness I had to step back as a volunteer at Open Arms Clinic in Toccoa,GA. But let me tell you of the hardworking dedicated volunteers there. They give without receiving to our comunity of people who have no other place to turn to. For some people Open Arms is their saving grace. The volunteers there give of their time, gifts, experience and heart you can't ask for better.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

as a staff member.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Their professional medical service to people who could not afford health care and was not elibible for medicare or medicaid.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very caring and professional.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Hirer a few full time office workers and therefore freeing up those who could best serve the patients with their professional expertise instead of spending time doing computer/paperwork.

This care provided by this clinic is for some patients, a matter of life and death. These patients are not on Medicare, Medicaid, or SS Disability, but cannot afford traditional medical care or medications which are essential to their well-being. The nurses, doctors, the pharmacist and administrators who volunteer their time and skills are heroes in our community.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

During my volunteer hours, I speak with many patients. They are, to a person, aware that this clinic is dedicated to their good health, and they express that awareness often.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

No changes, just more volunteers and funds are needed.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing the generous spirits of medical and pharmaceutical folks, who are making such a huge difference to some very ill people.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Generous, caring, sincere, upbeat, kind.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Wow, think of expanding, serving a wider region.

Ways to make it better...

My experience cannot be better! This volunteer work is the happiest thing I do with my time;

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

The cost of medication provided to our patients is staggering, but without it, some would truly not live.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this clinic.

As a nurse volunteer at Open Arms Clinic I see first hand how needed it is in the community!. With the economy and the job losses in this area of Ga. Many have lost health insurance that are in great need of being treated for cronic problems such as high blood pressure; diabeties etc. To be able to keep our community healthy is a cost effective measure every community needs. God bless all those that vlounteer time; money and resourses. Thank you Thank you.

This organization has been open since 2007, and it has been a shining light in the Stephens County community! They work diligently to help patients receive their medications and other services for free.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Everyone works together to try to help the patients who need services. They all have a heart to be there too.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

All willing to do their best to help the patients.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Serve so many more patients, as the Stephens County community has a large number of low-income, uninsured individuals.
