As a CASA volunteer, I know that foster kids often go without all sorts of things that we take for granted, but those things can have a big impact. When I first learned about One Simple Wish, I immediately told my CASA supervisor and she signed up as a community partner.
The story of one high school girl who would have to quit the track team if she didn't get new running shoes really stood out to me. What if being on the track team meant that she could get a college scholarship? If she were my daughter, I'd run right out and buy the shoes. I could not leave the One Simple Wish website without donating the cost of shoes for that child.
Danielle Gletow's passion for these kids shines through this entire organization and she's willing to do anything to help. She's a tremendous example of how one person can set kindness and compassion in motion.
