I am very pleased for all the work this charity has been doing for the past years. I am particular happy that disabled children are their number one priority. This has shown me that we should never lose hope in whatever we are doing. The love and support that this organisation has given to the less fortunate can only come from God.
May God continue to bless and strengthen the founders, volunteers, donors and anyone that has contributed to this cause.
Continue the excellent work you are doing, I am assured it is well received...

I am a friend of the founder of the charity and have been happy to donate to it over the past few years. This is truly a very low overhead charity, and I know that the organizers have spent a large amount of personal funds to sponsor various activities for the community. This is a great cause and very few charities are serving this overlooked need.

I am a volunteer of the casaco foundation and watching these ladies work is a marvel. They are so enthused and energetic towards helping people. The top Range event was a huge success as persons of all ages came out and supported the event held for children. The police , education minister and others were among those who supported the cause and the children benefitted greatly. I am proud to say i played apart in the event and that this foundation is one of its kind and should continue the great work of helping and changing peoples lives. CASACO foundation is the only foundation that should be given the honour and be graced with the prize of $5000.

I serve as a Board Member for the CASACO Foundation. This foundation is helping uplift the lives of impoverished Jamaican children who live in orphanages and underprivileged neighborhoods. In 2007, CASACO foundation provided over 1000 children and their families with basic necessities such as food, clothing, and school supplies. These efforts have increased in numbers and magnitude each year. Since Ms. Dixon-James travels to the Carribean every year to facilitate the foundation activities. These activities have helped uplift the lives of children, their families and in turn their neighborhoods. They have also helped promote literacy development and academic success. I am a firm believer in giving back and Shernet Dixon-James has shown us how to do this through her leadership on the foundation. Winning the $5000 would really help the foundation reach more children and communities in the Carribean.

The New Providence Primary School in kingston Jamaica is a beneficiary of the generosity of the CASACO Foundation. On December 14, 2010 through founder Sherenette Dixon the school was the recipient of various school supplies including dictionaries novels workbooks notebooks, pencils, pens, and art supplies. Many of our students are from economically challenged communities some of whom come to school without the necessary school supplies for working. the supplies received will assist us in catering to the needs of some of our students.
Thank you CASACO for reaching out to us. We appreciate your help.

I am a firm believer in paying it forward. The Casaco Foundation embodies paying it forward. I have known the founder for several years, and know how near and dear this foundation is to her. Having other friends who currently reside in Jamaica, I am fully aware of the numerous economic and educational hardships that plague the island nation. With the aid of organizations such as Casaco, the less fortunate citizens of Jamaica are provided with opportunites that would normally not be met. The opportunity to win a grant would not only be a great reward for thier hard work, but it would also be an honor, as it shows recognition for an honest and legitimate foundation.

The CASCO Foundation is a foundation founded by Mrs. Shernet Dixon-James. This foundation has helped hundreds of children in the Top Range community and thousands all over Kingston Jamaica. I volunteered for some of the events host by Mrs Dixon-james and I was able to witness first hand what this foundation is caple of and how it can make a difference in so many peoples lives. Many of the children that participated in the events were very grateful for what she is trying to do and because of this were able to do things that they werent able to do before. They enjoyed themselves and were able to be themselves and act like the children tha they are. This foundation has help so many of the less fortunate accomplish so much and open the eyes of the fortunate in seeing that giving a little can make a BIG difference.

Casaco foundation was founded by Mrs. Shernet Dixon-James a Jamaican who grew up in a very humble home with her mother and four sisters. Due to her trying circumstances like going to school and receiving other basic needs growing up, she always demonstrate a passion for helping those who are in a similar situation. Hence the forming of this foundation.
For the past three years she has visited Jamaican inner city communities, her alma mater Providence Primary School, homes for the disabled and also homes for boys and girls who are less fortunate than others. I have been a volunteer for her organization for these yeas because I see the benefits, joy and smiles it brought to all these faces whom have benefited from her foundation.
What I admire about the foundation is that the founder herself gives a lot of hands on contribution as nothing is too difficult for her to do. She makes presentations, she shares with the children, reads for them, sings for them and cries with them. She finds out their individual interest and makes them available. She makes things happen. Things are not just promised, they are being delivered.
Some of the supplies which are donated to these less fortunate children are books and stationeries, clothing and shoes, bags for school and for special needs, equipment to help students grasp learning concepts easier.
I remember Christmas 2010, the foundation held a treat in Kingston Jamaica, Mountain View. In my view that was the treat for the year. The children and their parents came out looking forward to have a lovely time and they did. They were feted with speeches from representative from the Ministry of Education, constable and inspector from the police force both encouraging the children to be exemplary citizens. Dinner, ice cream, cakes drinks soups, sweets, giveaways of educational items were made available.
Children were allowed to show piece their talent and basically to be themselves.
The Casaco Foundation was also involved in another treat in the Mountain View Back Bush area which again gave satisfaction to many people. The aim of Casaco is to take their donations and what they believe in all over the Caribbean. I wish them all the best.

My son benefited with items for school, shoes and clothing. For me personally I am able to see other people who are worse off than I am and that I must appreciate life more and help others.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I probably would take some children to site seeing in their country as they may not ever have this experience. I would not change anything I would add to it.

Through the launch of the CASACO Foundation, Shernet Dixon has helped hundreds of less fortunate children across Jamaica through the distribution of school supplies, food items, toiletries, etc.
Too often the social problems of illiteracy, hunger, and even poverty are overlooked or sheltered
under the 'wings' of jamaica's sceneries, hotels, night life and culture on a whole. This foundation lends itself not only by donating essentials but also dedicates time and energy into the needs of others.
Shernet Dixon, through CASACO, gives hope, support and inspires youths especially with the desire to achieve what the mind can conceive.
