One Heart World-Wide

Rating: 5 stars   1 review

Issues: Health, International

Location: 1818 Pacheco Street San Francisco CA 94116 USA

Mission: One Heart World-Wide was established in 1998 to address the high rate of maternal and newborn deaths during childbirth in Tibet. One of every thirty-three women die during childbirth and one in ten babies die within the first month of life. One Heart World-Wide is working to reduce these tragic numbers through its essential programs. Our mission is to give women in China, Nepal, Mexico, and Tibet the chance for a healthy birthing process.
Programs: One H.E.A.R.T.'s programs include midwife and physician training, nutrition education, and village outreach projects in rural Tibet. Each program reaches a different medical care level, ranging from the village level to the county level.
