I have supported Omni Youth Programs for the past three years. I began as a volunteer working a few hours a week and ended up suporting Omni with my personal donatons of money and as a unpaid board member. Omni has the lowest overhead per dollar of donation of any charity that I support. (I financially support four other local children focused charities). The in-class programs that Omni has developed are very well recieved by every school that has recieved them. Omni Is truly making a difference in reducing drug use and gang membership through their grade school programs. This approach is cheaper and more effective than more law enforcement and prison, particularly in light of the budget cuts in all government services.

I became involved with the Omni Youth Program about six years ago. I became a board member and since then I now serve as the President. The Omni Youth Program has become one of the most far reaching programs in the Del Paso School distict for drug and violence prevention. The programs work with the children and parents. It has helped the community in one of the most violent locations in the Sacramento areas. The progrms reaches out to a large number of children and parents. It has provided services to around 900 children and 1,200 families in the school district. Hopefully, the program will have the funds and support needed to continue their efforts in the fight againist drugs and violence in the schools it serves.
