I have been a part of the Old Guard Riders for over two years and have been extremely impressed with the professionalism and dignity with which the organization conducts itself. I participated in escorting the remains of seven service members from Apache Junction, AZ to Phoenix, AZ for internment in the National Cemetery there. The Old Guard Riders worked closely with the Missing in America Program to ensure the service members received all the honors and recognition befitting individuals who had served this great nation. The entire ceremony was conducted with a level of professionalism and dignity I have yet to see surpassed anywhere. As a member of the Old Guard Riders, I helped coordinate the OGR's participation in the Buffalo Soldier Plaza dedication ceremony on Fort Huachuca, AZ. I worked with members of the Old Guard Riders and the protocol office on Ft. Huachuca to have the cremains of CPL Isaiah Mays present at the ceremony. CPL Mays, a Medal of Honor recipient, had served at Ft. Huachuca. The OGR untiringly sought to and accomplished having CLP Mays exhumed form an unmarked grave in a barren field, transported across the country with an honor escort and interred in Arlington National Ceremony with all the honors and dignity due a Medal of Honor recipient. I am proud to be a part of the Old Guard Riders and will continue to support the organization in all it's endeavors on behalf of all veterans, both living and deceased.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... being part of several ceremonies dedicated to honoring servicemen who had been forgotten.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... their untiring and unfailing dedication to helping veterans.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... of the highest caliber and dedicated to helping veterans
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... Help feed, shelter and provide needed care for America's forgotten warriors.
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... It could not have been.
  • If I had to make changes to this organization, I would… change nothing.
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... the lack of knowledge on the part of the general public in general on the dire conditions of many of America's veterans and how the public could help this situation.
  • One thing I'd also say is that... I consider it an honor and a privilege to be part of such an honorable and dedicated organization.

As the Founder/President, I am extremely proud of our service record to veterans. Old Guard Riders Inc was deliberately created with a very broad Mission Statement. We wanted to create an organization that could fill almost any void in the cause of assisting America's veterans - whether alive or deceased. Whether feeding and clothing the homeless veteran or finding and interring the unclaimed remains of a veteran, we wanted to serve a broad spectrum of needs. Old Guard Riders Inc. has no paid officers or staff, so the donations that we receive go almost entirely to the needs of the veterans.

If you cherish your freedom, thank a veteran.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... I have been involved with this organization from its very inception.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... Whether working to help againg, homeless, disabled or disadvantaged veterans, I love what we do. I believe that we are making a difference in the lives of those we touch.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... totally selfless and dedicated. Outstanding people who really care about veterans and are willing to go the extra mile to help. Our volunteers are the greatest advertising this organization has.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... the possibilities are endless.
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... This organization, like all other organizations, must find its way to the awareness of those it desires to help as well as volunteers and donors. Finding ways to accomplish both of these tasks has been very time consuming.
  • If I had to make changes to this organization, I would… find a way to make Old Guard Riders Inc more visible to veterans in need as well as perspective volunteers and donors.
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... money and volunteers.
  • One thing I'd also say is that... Thank you to all of our volunteers and donors. Without you, we could not accomplish our mission. Thank you!

I have had the priviledge of working with Ron and Lee Eppich on several of their projects. Some people wave the flag; then go home for dinner. Some people say that "they are going to do something": and then they don't. Some people salute the flag; and then they don't vote. Some people say that "they support vets"...as long as it is convenient. This has never been the case with the Old Guard Riders. How many people do YOU know that will take a week off from work to ride a motorcycle all of the way across this country to see that a black Buffalo Soldier, a soldier that died almost a hundred years ago, be given the honor that he deserved by being interred at Arlington National Cemetery? They may not be in a class by themselves, but it dosen't take long to call the roll. A veteran dies; they are there on a flag line. A military family needs help; they do the best that they can for them. Some people just talk; Ron and Lee do something about it. I am not a vet; I never served my country. I greatly appreciate people that do!

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... being there to help Ron and Lee escort the "American Traveling Tribute Wall" into Arizona. Seeing their diligence, efforts, and work in identifing the remains of "unclaimed" veterans in the "Missing In America" project.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... I never feel like I am being taken advantage of for personal or organizational gain.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... For the biggest part, dedicated to the ends and means of this organization. I have only met one individual that was "in it for himself". However, he lives out of state and is not a factor in the day to day operations of this non-profit.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... There is NO answer or limitations to such a fortunate event.
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... more people understood what the Old Guard Riders stands for and what they do to support our veterans both living and passed on.
  • If I had to make changes to this organization, I would… Add more people of like spirit. Include the media more in their efforts.
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... (1)Letting others know who they are and what they do for our veterans. (2)Funding, either public or private, for their projects. (3) Expanding a standard "day" to 26 or 28 hours so that Ron and Lee can get more stuff done.
  • One thing I'd also say is that... Keep true to your faith, dedication, and goals. There are so many people that depend upon you, your work, and your honesty.

The Great!
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... there is alot of non profits out there but they say they do alot but they don't ogr does what they say and it is nice to really see that
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... they are good people and they really do care about the vets
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... if they had this kind of money they definily would help a vet in need and they would fill in the cracks our gov. misses
Ways to make it better!
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... the only challenge i see that this organization has is they don't have enough funding to accomplish the big mission that they set for them selfs to help the vets

I have worked with Old Guard Riders Inc. on several of their veterans projects. I provided the sound system and music for their events. They are extremely dedicated to veterans and will do anything to help veterans. They exhumed and moved CPL Isaiah Mays to Arlington National Cemetery. They exhumed and moved PO2 Stephen Staggs from an indigent cemetery to the AZ National Cemetery in Phoenix AZ. They feed the homeless and do so much more. Support this group.
