One of the nicest things about the Oasis is how they Personalize the stories of many of the birds they help. Visit their website and read about the travels and travails of Gulliver and how he finally found his forever home. Read about Pong Yo and keep tissues handy because you will surely cry over the story of this beautiful, remarkable little bird. Help this charity with your donations because they do so much good.

To best understand the Oasis Sanctuary I urge you to visit their website, see their birds and read the stories of birds they have helped. The wonderful part about Oasis is that they provide permanent homes for birds who have been abused/neglected or even harmed. Their sponsorship program is wonderful. Over the last several years we have sponsored 6 birds. Please help them get the support and recognition they so richly deserve

Everyone seems to be helpful where dogs and cats are in need, but what about the birds. My husband and I have two rescue birds, so when we discovered the Oasis we decided to become donors. We are always checking their web page and if a special project comes along we hope to be able to donate and help their cause. Thank goodness of the Oasis, they have given over 700 birds a forever home. We will contine to be a supprter of this wonderful place. We just wish we could give more! We hope that when we can no longer take care of our two birds that we might be able to send them to the Oasis. But meanwhile they take care of all the birds there like they deserve to be cared for!

My husband I have the joy of caring for two rescued parrots. While all animals deserve to be cared for, not many organizations care for or rescue parrots. They are the mos intelligent and clever animals. People often decide to get a parrot and don't research how much care and time is needed to care for these birds. Oasis rescues and gives permanent homes to those birds that were not fortunate enough to live in a good enviornment. We support them financially, and would like to volunteer to help at the facility. Everyone connected with the Oasis is loving and caring. Just what the birds deserve! They deserve to be recognized for all the love and care they give those rescued birds.

we have three aging amazons--as are we! Oasis Sanctuary is the only assisted living facility we know can take care of our precious companions if and when we need assisted living. There is not another facility that can compare with Oasis. Each, and I do mean each, and every little soul gets personalized attention every day. The volunteers are extraordinary. This is the most loving organization that I am aware of.

This organization is truly one of a kind and a blessing to all of us. My husband and I have visited the Oasis severel times and are always in amazed at the wonderful care and love everyone exihibits for all of the birds. The volunteers are truly committed to each of the of the birds and most of the birds have names and are known by the volunteers. It's remarkable!

I met Janet Trumbule last spring at a Bird Conference in Houston, and after visiting with her, was very eager to visit the Oasis Sanctuary and see how it all works. My husband and I have our own little flock of 13, and our birds are our passion. In July we went to visit the Oasis, and were given a tour of the facility by Janet, who explained procedures and answered all of our questions. The 15 hour drive was definitely worth it! I cannot express enough how impressed I was with this operation. All of the 650+ birds were cared for with EACH ONE's particular needs met, and placed in the best environment suited to them. The team working there were happily doing the feeding, washing the food bowls, and taking care of endless other chores with caring devotion. The cleanliness, the happy birds, the dedication to care for each and every bird was evident. It is my hope that when, or if, we ever need a forever home for any of our birds, that the Oasis Sanctuary, or a sanctuary with equal dedication, will be available to give them the care they deserve. Sincerely, Connie Shelton

I wrote a review for the Oasis over a year ago, and want very much to repost my thoughts... As a social psychologist, parrot owner, and President of The Long Island Parrot Society (www.liparrotsociety.org), I am very much aware of the love that develops between parrot people and their companion birds. When life circumstances demand alternative care for their birds, finding a new home that provides optimal care is heart-wrenchingly difficult. The Oasis Sanctuary provides the level of care and accomodation that most parrot owners can only dream of for their beloved birds. But the number of parrots and parrot owners they can serve is limited by funding. This past year, their board of directors has pursued several fantastic expansion projects that allow much in demand expansion of accomodations capability... and new plans are in the works... they need the funds to make it all happen. I have visited The Oasis Sanctuary as a volunteer, and was very impressed by the facility and the staff (really flock/family are better words for this devoted group)...the visit was a life-changing experience.. Every bird taken in by The Oasis Sanctuary is an avian life saved, and a human heart healed.

Upon purchasing our companion parrot in 1998 I was inspired to find a Sanctuary that would be the bird's forever home. Enter The Oasis Sanctuary. The resident parrots are so inspiring I became a mainstay of the Sanctuary's volunteer community. Nearly 15 years later and I'm still here volunteering my home as the foster home. Hubby, Tom, also volunteers full time to provide the loving home a few of the extra-needs parrots flourish in.

I have volunteered for and with The Oasis Sanctuary since fall of 1998. My participation grew in time and scope over the years because of the way parrots are treated at this life care sanctuary. In the past 14 years I have seen nothing but the very best care given to the parrots. When I started volunteering there was only the Founder and 2 other volunteers caring for about 100 parrots. Our Sanctuary now has 8 full time care givers on site, my help as a Foster Care provider and scores of other volunteers who give varying amounts of time to further the good work of this organization.

A unique organization in that it provides shelter for exotic birds that are sometimes sick and/or injured. An absolutely extraordinary place run by dedicated employees and volunteers. I know of no other that is its equal.

For parrot lovers, The Oasis Sanctuary is the pot of gold at the end of the
rainbow. They lovingly provide a lifetime care and
shelter for over 700 parrots and birds. They fill a
need that is growing and underfunded, the need for parrot rescue.

The Oasis Sanctuary also
works with other parrot rescue organizations to
provide the best options for homeless parrots.
For us parrot and animal lovers, it's heartening to know they exist, and
we depend on them being there for the parrots that we love so much.
Without them, the world for homeless parrots would be very bleak indeed.

They are an amazing organization that caters to birds in need. As a fellow bird owner, some people don't understand the work and dedication that goes into taking care of these beautiful creatures. The Oasis Sanctuary is wonderful and hold themselves to a higher standard than most nonprofits.

Oasis is a great organization that helps exotic birds survive in a safe and welcoming environment. So many people aren't aware of the demands of an exotic bird but the Oasis Sanctuary never fails to turn their back on a bird in need. It's a huge problem that people need to be aware of. I have been sending donations to them on a regular basis for years now and they are wonderful...please support the Oasis Sanctuary!!! Your money and donations always go to the parrots in need!!!
