I have been very impressed with this organization and contribute money to them every year. When my son was young, myself and several of my friends took parenting classes sponsered by NHCO. They were very helpful.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I think if they were able to expand their services even more that would be wonderful.

North Hills Community Outreach program is a wonderful establishment! The staff there is so giving! They are always ready to help their clients with anything they may need. They are always making suggestions about programs I may qualify for. They are so accommodating with the food pantry. They will let you go on special days if you cannot make the scheduled Tuesday food pantry day. I can't imagine another pantry being so considerate of their clients. They make you feel welcomed, not like a burden. They have helped and our helping so many individuals and families in their area! Keep up the good work!

I am a disabled young adult with a wife and 2 children under the age of 2. NHCO has helped me so much in the past year. Since I am unable to work, they have provided me with much needed food for my family (even the babies). At Christmas time, NHCO helped me provide my family with gifts and food so that it would be a holiday our family will happily remember. Just recenty we had a problem with our well for the water that we use. Again, NHCO stepped in an offered assistance where I was unable to do it myself. I will be forever thankful for the wonderful people and help that my family and I have received.

Thank you.

I was probably one of the very first clients and did not know it way back.
After our home was destroyed by a flood, NHCO came to the rescue. It is such a good organization. Our family cannot say enough about the compassion these people showed.

I joined the Family Savings Account program to get my finances under control and make it possible to buy a car. When I got accepted to physician assistant school, I decided a car wasn't as important and changed my goal to paying for tuition! What a relief to know that my next two semesters will be covered without having to take out grad PLUS loans, thanks to the education and assistance I got through NHCO.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

. . . incurring significantly less debt than many of my classmates.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

. . . include education about how to balance a decent grocery bill with decent nutrition.

We have never needed to go to a food bank before and everyone is just wonderful, kind, and accepting. They provide many additional services to those in need and address the needs of all ages.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The care they give to clients.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Help them have more staff. They do great things with a small but caring staff.

Already struggling as a family last year, when the economic situation got worse, my husband lost enough hours on his job to endanger our being able to maintain life in the area. We have had to make use of the food pantry for the past year and a half, when we used to be able to donate regularly. Unfortunately, the situation has also left our 3 year old son without proper health coverage (due to an error between the current and previous insurance companies). We were not expecting to be able to get him his life-saving medicine (he has just been diagnosed with severe asthma, which is not under control yet)and asked if they might also be able to assist us with the funds we lacked for to purchase his medicine. Thankfully, they were able to give us the difference between the funds we had and what we needed to get his medicine. This saved us an emergency room visit last night!, as his asthma gets worse whenever he plays/walks more than 30 yards/ or just about any other form of exercise. His pediatrician thinks it might clear up as he gets older, but for now it is severe enough to be life-threatening. May God Bless and Keep the great people of NHCO in his care at all times! AMEN!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the ability to get my son the medicine necessary to save his life and food for his nutritional needs.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

find more ways to help more people in these tough times, by providing more volunteers to help out on distribution days.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

they are there when we need them and are equally as friendly as they are dependable.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

like old friends that you miss seeing after school ends.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

help everyone in the community out just a little better, especially since the entire community is having trouble staying afloat given the current economic situation.

Ways to make it better...

the economy would improve enough that my husband can find steady employment and we can contribute again.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

lack of resources in these tough economic times.

One thing I'd also say is that...

everyone does what they can, when they can. It's nice to know that you aren't just a number served, when you need to ask for help.

The people here are Excellent! We have recently fallen on extremely difficult times, with multiple complications. They don't judge, nor do they make you feel ashamed like some other organizations, for needing help. We have a 2-yr.-old son which benefitted greatly from the Santa/ Toy Shop this Christmas. With their help and that of our local community, we were able to enjoy seeing his smile as "Santa" delivered his requested toys. Toys that three days later are still getting 12 hr/day use! They also helped us keep our utilities on when we were having trouble because of being victims of identity theft, death of my father/landlord, and my husband losing hours on his job. I hope everyone involved receives as many or more blessings as they give out every year. This mother has tears in her eyes of pure happiness seeing her son still happy with "Santa"'s presents. Presents that we would never have been able to get for him ourselves, we found from the generosity of those that donated to this wonderful organization. Thanks again and may the tradition of community continue even in these tough times.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the smiles of an innocent child on Christmas morning!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

find ways to get more donations from multiple corporate sponsors to help in these tough times, when people who donated in the past have to seek help instead of providing it.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

they do not make a person feel ashamed of needing help and they are always there when necessary.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

all pleasant and caring.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

help more members of the community and make more children happy. Perhaps it could also help tenants save the home they were renting, instead of having to move into an apartment or out of the area?

Ways to make it better...

more people would donate when they could to help those of us who have fallen on difficult times.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

lack of donations with the rising difficulty posed by these economic times, especially in the local area.

One thing I'd also say is that...

everyone has times when they hit a rough patch. Please remember that and donate when you can, because you never know when you will need the help.
